To understand the Apostolic church or the apostolic church belief, it helps to take a look at the root word, which is “Apostle”.  The word Apostle comes from the Greek word Apostolos.  It means “sent one”.  An Apostolic church embraces the responsibility of being “sent” to a region with a mandate from God.

In Paul’s letters, there are 2 times where he mentions the Apostolic Ministry and in both cases, it was to correct the church as to what their structure should look like.  We can take from this that a church with the Apostolic gifting at the forefront is not only fruitful but exactly what Jesus intended.

Paul writes to the Ephesians saying: So Christ Jesus himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors, and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Eph 4:11-13
